A Raison in the Sun Help!!!!?
Start by reading the play. Since you have these questions, make notes as you go, using a page for each question. For example, early on Walter Lee and Ruth argue about eggs. Put that on your list under #1. Since Ruth is frying eggs, there has to be a frying pan for a prop. Put that under #2. Some props like the frying pan might not symbolize anything, others like the picture of the dead father have a larger meaning. For 3 & 4, keep track of character traits. The argument shows something about Ruth's character (taking care of her family in spite of the arguments) and Walter Lee's (not wanting to think about ordinary necessities), so put that down. When you are done reading, look at the list of characterizations. For #3 just pick out the bits that show courage and strength. For #4, see which characters did not change. Take an example form early in the play and one from late in the play that show how they stayed the same.
